Clamping of Vehicle Travelling at Excessive Speed
Devonport Police have clamped a vehicle for travelling in excess of 45km/h over the speed limit at Spreyton. The offence took place in the early hours of Thursday Morning.
The vehicle was being driven by a 20 year old man who is the holder of a learners licence. He was the only occupant of the vehicle at the time.
The vehicle has been clamped for a period of 28 days and the driver is being proceeded against for the offences.
It is the second offence of this type detected by Police in the Western District in 24 hours as a result of current road safety strategies in place. These strategies focus on making the roads safer for everybody by targeting drivers who disregard road rules, placing both themselves and other road users at risk.
