City theft – identity sought
Approximately 4:20pm on Thursday 27 October 2011 a woman was assisting her elderly mother into her car which was parked in Criterion Street, Hobart. The woman placed her wallet and iPhone on the roof of the car so that she had her hands free to help her mother.
At the time a group of four young men (possibly teenagers) were nearby and one of the group approached the car and snatched the items from the roof. All four then ran off up Mathers Lane into Liverpool Street and then into Centrepoint.
CCTV footage has captured images of the young men.
The four are described as:

Male 1: about 160cm tall, slim build, wearing a black long sleeve top with green pattern on front and shoulders, dark cap with logo on front and dark track pants (carrying dark coloured jumper).

Male 2: about 158cm tall, slim build, blonde spiky with apparent “rats tail”, black t/shirt, black track pants with 2 x stripes down the side (carrying dark coloured jumper).

Male 3: about 170cm tall, medium build, wearing black t/shirt with striped green, black and grey hooded jumper, black track pants, black cap with white logo.
- Male 4: about 175cm tall, slim build, short brown hair, wearing red hooded jumper (which he removed when he entered Centrepoint), black t/shirt with logo on the front, white t/shirt underneath, black track pants, black and white skate shoes.
Detectives are seeking public assistance to identify the young men and anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
