Detectives from Tasmania Police’s Fraud & e-Crime Investigation Services today charged a 32-year-old New Norfolk man with offences relating to the possession of child exploitation material. It is alleged the man possessed in excess of 3,000 images and 200 videos.

Inquiries indicate that all of the material was downloaded from Internet sources and there is no indication that any Tasmanian children were directly at risk.

The man has been bailed to appear at the Hobart Magistrates Court on the 19th of December 2011.
