At about 10:45 am on Sunday 8/6/14, a crash involving a single vehicle and a three year old boy from the Huon was reported to police and the Tasmanian Ambulance Service.

The crash occurred off road on a challenging 4WD track known as Clymies Track, approximately 5 kilometers north of Trial Harbour on the West Coast. A group from the south of the state had been touring the area in 4WD vehicles.

One of the 4WD’s, whilst conducting a low speed maneouver, has tragically run over the boy.

The crash was attended by the Rescue Helicopter as well as local elements of Tasmania Police and Tas Ambulance. Unfortunately the child died prior to their arrival.

Investigations into the circumstances of the crash have commenced and report will be made to the Coroner in due course.
