At 11:20am on Sunday 27 April police attended reports of a four year old child missing from a residence at Youngtown.

Members of Tasmania Police attended and a search was commenced immediately. A short time later the child was found unconscious in a swimming pool at the residence.

An officer commenced CPR and Tasmanian Ambulance Service attended. The boy was then conveyed to the Launceston General Hospital where he was found to have passed away.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
