On 23 February 2016, detectives from Bellerive Criminal Investigation Branch charged a 19 year old man originally from Primrose Sands with Arson.

On 16 March 2016,  a 52 year old woman from Primrose Sands was also charged with Arson and fraud matters.

These  charges relate to an incident where a house was burnt down in Tamarix Road at Primrose Sands on 24 February 2013.

The matter has been investigated as part of the recent fires in Primrose Sands. It is alleged that the man who was a youth at the time, was paid $2000 to set fire to the woman’s house so she could profit from the insurance money.

The woman is due to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court on 2 May 2016.
