On 11 December 2011 members of the Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch charged an 18 year old Mowbray man with armed robbery.

The charge relates to the armed robbery of a taxi driver at the Mowbray racecourse on Wednesday, 7 December 2011.

He was remanded in custody following an out of hours sitting of the Launceston Magistrates Court on Sunday, 11 December.
