In the early hours of Tuesday 20 March 2012 the Newstead Hotel Bottle Shop was broken into and about $10,000 worth of alcohol stolen.

Launceston Criminal Investigation Branch detectives have recovered the majority of the alcohol stolen and have charged a 19 year old Devonport man with the burglary and stealing.

He was bailed to appear in the Devonport Court of Petty Sessions.

Investigations are continuing into other persons involved in the burglary.
