At 1.50am on Saturday 19 March 2011, an armed robbery was reported at the United Service Station on Mount Street in Burnie.  A male person was reported to have entered the service station, brandishing a knife, and demand money from the sole attendant.  The offender then reached into the till, took money from it and left the store.

Detectives from Burnie Criminal Investigation Branch have this evening charged a 17 year old male from Burnie in relation to the incident.  The youth was charged with Armed Robbery and will appear in an out of hours court.
