A 48 year old Goodwood man has appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court charged with the murder of two people in Ravenswood last month.

Marco Daniel Rusterholz was arrested this morning, 25 September, at a property in Glenorchy.

He is charged with the murder of Joshua Eric Newman and Angela Maree Hallam, whose bodies were found after a house fire at a unit in Pioneer Parade, Ravenswood on 15 August 2012.

The Operation Vent taskforce consisting of Detectives from Launceston and Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branches have conducted a number of searches at four addresses in Glenorchy this morning.  This was done with assistance from other divisions from the Southern District.

Rusterholz was remanded in custody and will appear before the Launceston Magistrates Court on 2 October via videolink.
