Charges laid over firearms seizure at Sheffield
Two people have been charged after police seized a stolen motor vehicle, and several firearms during a targeted search at Sheffield on Thursday.
Members of the Western Drugs and Firearms Unit, with support from members of Operation Scelus, executed a search warrant at the address, seizing the following –
A red Holden SUV (reported stolen)
Two 303 rifles
A gel blaster Glock handgun
A firearm barrel
Quantities of ammunition and gunpowder
Quantities of ice, and cannabis
A 28-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man were interviewed in relation to the items seized and have since been charged with the following offences:
• Unlawful Possession of property.
• Sell a controlled drug.
• Possess a controlled drug.
• Possess a controlled plant product.
• Use a controlled plant product.
• Possess a firearm when not the holder of a firearm licence.
• Possess ammunition when not the holder of the appropriate firearm licence.
• Possess thing used for the administration of a controlled drug.
The pair will appear in court on 24 June.
