Charges laid over disturbance in Zeehan

Police have charged three people over a disturbance in Zeehan on Thursday night.

Police were called to the scene on Main Road about 8:30pm, after a man was reportedly acting in a threatening manner towards members of the public.

About two hours later, police were called to a nearby address following a second reported disturbance.

One person, a 51-year-old Zeehan man, was taken to hospital after becoming involved in an altercation with a group of other men.

The man has since been released from hospital and has been charged with three counts of assault as well as multiple counts relating to property damage, disorderly conduct and possessing a dangerous article.

As a result of the police investigation an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man, both from Rosebery, have also been charged with assault.

The men will all appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court at a later date, and a fourth man will be spoken to by police in the coming days.
