Police have charged four men in connection to a wounding and aggravated burglary incident at Colebrook yesterday.

Around 6am four men attended a property in Colebrook in a 2001 red magna, registration ES3962. They fired two shots at the house before attempting to force entry.

A man inside the house confronted the four men with a firearm which he discharged in their direction. One man suffered a bullet injury to his leg and underwent surgery at the Royal Hobart Hospital and is in a stable condition.

Three men, aged 42, 50 and 49 years, were apprehended by police and charged with aggravated burglary and recklessly discharge a firearm. All three were detained to appear in court after 10am today.

The male occupant of the residence, a 68-year-old man, was charged with wounding and bailed.

The police investigation is ongoing to locate the fourth man (38 years) involved in the incident.

Police would like to speak to anyone who was travelling on Colebrook Road between the Tea Tree turnoff and Rhyndaston Road between 6am and 7.30am and may have dash cam footage of a red magna, registration ES3962, which has since been located by police.

Police would also like to speak to anyone with information in relation to the incident.
