Bridgewater Police have charged a 33-year-old Bridgewater man with burglary, stealing and unlawfully setting fire to property following an incident at the Discovery Early Learning Centre in Bridgewater in the early hours of 3 May 2023.

Police allege the man broke into the Discovery Early Learning Centre van and stole items before returning shortly after and setting the van alight, destroying it. The destroyed van and its contents are valued at over $100,000.

Following an investigation, police arrested and charged him on 19 May 2023. The man was detained and is due to appear in after hours Court on Saturday 20 May 2023.
