Charges – Jodi Michelle Eaton disappearance
A 37 year old man from Bridgewater has been charged with murder. Police will allege that he is responsible for the murder of Jodi Michelle Eaton.
A second man, also 37 years of age from Bridgewater, has been charged with failing to report the killing of a person, and being an accessory after the fact to murder. He will appear in Hobart Magistrates court this afternoon.
Late yesterday afternoon police also arrested and charged a 36 year old man from Bridgewater with Failing to report the killing of a person, and being an accessory after the fact to murder. That man appeared in Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.
The charges are the result of a continuing investigation into the disappearance of Ms Jodi Eaton.
Yesterday, 20 February 2014, police conducted an operation that involved the simultaneous searching of three properties. Two properties were in Bridgewater and a third at a rural location in Pelham.
The rural property at Pelham was declared a crime scene and is currently the subject of a forensic investigation by forensic scientists and forensic officers.
80 police and SES personnel were committed to the property searches including police search and rescue personnel; forensic officers and FSST staff. The forensic examination of the property at Pelham continues and police are unable to provide any further information at this time.
