Car Crash Argyle Street North Hobart
At approximately 7:00am on Saturday 21 July 2012 police attended a single vehicle crash in Argyle Street, North Hobart (between Lewis Street and Ryde Street).
A grey 2007 Ford Focus had crashed into an Aurora power pole, dislodging the pole from the ground. When police arrived at the scene the driver and any occupant(s) of the vehicle had fled the scene.
Enquiries conducted by police ascertained the vehicle was stolen sometime overnight in the Hobart area. The vehicle was totally destroyed and a forensic examination has been conducted.
At the time of this release Argyle Street, North Hobart (between Lewis Street and Ryde Street) remains closed while Aurora replace the power pole. The road is expected to be open again at approximately 1:00pm 21 July 2012.
Hobart Uniform Police are currently investigating the matter and request that any person who witnessed the event or has information relating to the crash call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
