Business Burglaries Arrests
Detectives from the Devonport Criminal Investigation Branch have arrested two Devonport men in relation to a series of burglaries targeting businesses along the North West Coast.
Several service stations from Penguin, Ulverstone, Devonport, Latrobe and Elizabeth Town were unlawfully entered and a quantity of property stolen over the past month. Several other businesses were also targeted. A significant amount of damage was caused during these incidents.
Detective Sergeant Foster said the businesses affected were the Caltex Service Stations at Penguin and Wattle Hill, the BP at East Devonport, O’Neill’s Service Station at Ulverstone, the Elizabeth Town Roadhouse, the Mole Creek Hotel, the Spreyton Football Club and Adaptalift at Devonport.
Some property has been recovered. Investigations are continuing with several other persons of interest identified as being involved.
A 20 year old man was remanded in custody and an 18 year old man is appearing in court today.
