Business Burglaries

Two men have been charged following three business burglaries allegedly committed overnight Wednesday 11 October 2017 into Thursday morning.

 

Woody’s Roller World in Glenorchy;

Coles Express in Brighton; and

Lifeline Australia in Hobart.

 

A door was jemmied at Woody’s and the mens have stolen a quantity of coins from various arcade gaming machines. They have then allegedly smashed the front glass doors of Coles Express and left empty handed after the alarms activated.

 

The men then travelled to Lifeline Australia where they were disturbed by patrolling police after stealing a cash box and confectionery. One man aged 38 years from Claremont was arrested at the scene and the other fled in a vehicle, being a red Ford Falcon sedan.

 

The second man aged 26 years from Claremont was located hours later at a house search and the car was recovered abandoned in Lutana after it allegedly evaded police attempts to intercept it.

 

Both men were arrested and charged. One man appeared in court yesterday afternoon and the other will appear this morning.
