The Tasmanian Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Louisa Creek camp spot on the South Coast track this morning for a bushwalker with a chest condition.

The man had been walking with his son and suffered the condition late yesterday afternoon.

They stopped at the Louisa Creek camp ground where they met track workers and monitored his condition overnight.

The man’s condition hadn’t improved by this morning, so one of the track workers called Police via satellite phone to inform them of the incident.

The helicopter was then tasked. The man and his son, were flown back to Hobart, where the man is reported to be in a stable condition.
