The missing 29 year old Travellers Rest man, Matthew Davis, has been extracted by the rescue helicopter from where a search group found him approximately 9 kilometres south west of the Cradle Mountain Visitors Centre.

Mr Davis has been assessed by paramedics at the forward command bus; his condition is described as stable with mild exposure but is in good spirits.

He will be conveyed by ambulance to the Mersey Hospital at Latrobe for further assessment.
