Burglary in Glenorchy
Police are investigating a burglary in Chapel Street Glenorchy between Friday night 14 March 2014 and Sunday afternoon 16 March 2014.
Two firearms and ammunition were stolen, along with two laptop computers, security keys and an orange backpack. The theft of the firearms is believed to have been an opportunistic crime.
The stolen firearms, a semi-automatic pistol and a revolver, were correctly stored.
Police would also like to take the opportunity to issue a warning that the stolen ammunition is not suitable for use in the stolen firearms, and its use may result in a catastrophic failure with a potential to cause the user or those nearby serious injury.
Police are seeking any information from members of the public who may have information regarding the theft to contact police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
