Burglary committed at Backflip clothing

Sometime after 10.30pm on Thursday 11 April 2013 a silver Subaru Liberty sedan was stolen from an address in Alwyn Road, Lenah Valley.

At approximately 2.00am on Friday 12 April 2013 it is believed that the stolen vehicle was used to perform a 'ram raid' at Backflip Clothing, situated at 87 Collins Street in Hobart. The shopfront received extensive damage as a result of the incident.

A substantial amount of clothing was stolen from the racks inside the store. The clothing consisted of men’s and women’s jeans, tank tops, t-shirts, and caps. Brands included ‘Jet Pilot’, ‘Unit’, and ‘Metal Militia’.

The stolen vehicle was later set on fire at approximately 3.14am in Milburn Place, Glenorchy.

Tasmania Police is seeking assistance from the public in relation to the above incidents, and in particular, if anyone is offered brand new clothing for sale.
