Burglary and motor vehicle thieves apprehended
On the 23rd January 2015 two men gained entry to a private residence in Cross Street New Town. The men have stolen a small amount of cash and the keys to the occupants Holden Commodore utility which was parked in the street outside the residence, they fled in the stolen vehicle.
One of the men was observed by a nearby resident who provided a description to police. Approximately 2 hours later the two men were apprehended in Vieste Drive, Glenorchy.
The stolen motor vehicle was recovered nearby in West Moonah, and a search of their residence located further stolen property from other home burglaries.
Both men were charged with various matters including aggravated burglary, stealing, motor vehicle stealing, receiving stolen property and disqualified driving.
