Burglaries and charges
Detectives from Hobart CIB are investigating a series of burglaries, which appeared to concentrate on one West Hobart Street, in the early hours of Tuesday the 3rd of February.
Thieves targeted both homes and cars that were parked on the street and in driveways. It has been established that a number of the targeted vehicles and houses were left unsecured, allowing for easy access.
Police would like to issue a timely reminder, to all residents and vehicle owners, to ensure that vehicles are left locked and secure with any valuables removed or placed out of sight. It is good practice to remember to lock all doors and secure windows of your house, at night, to prevent unwanted intruders even if you are home.
Police have charged a 16 year old youth in relation to all matters and other people have been assisting with enquires. Anyone with any information or anyone who may have observed a group of young men in the early hours of Tuesday the 3rd of February walking between West Hobart and North Hobart are urged to contact Police.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
