Police have called off a search for a dinghy and its occupants reported missing via a Triple Zero call last night.

Searches overnight and this morning have failed to find any evidence of a missing dinghy.  No one has been reported overdue from a boating trip and there are no vehicles with trailers left at boat ramps.  No distress flare has been sighted.

Police are continuing their investigations in to the origin of the call, and would like anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
