Bruny Island rescue

Around noon on Sunday 3 October the Police Westpac Rescue Helicopter was activated by Tas Ambulance in relation to middle aged woman who had fallen down a cliff at Kilora Bay on Bruny Island.

The woman had sustained back injuries in the fall and a medical evacuation was required.

There was no road access to the scene and a wilderness paramedic was winched into the scene to assist local volunteer ambulance officers.

The woman was placed in a sked stretcher and winched into the helicopter before being flown to a hospital in Hobart. The woman was in a stable condition.
