On Saturday 11 October 2014 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to attend Bruny Island in relation to a man seriously injured in a single vehicle motorcycle crash on private land, Lunawanna.

The 47 year old man, who severed an ear and suffered skeletal/muscular injury in the crash, was treated at the scene by local paramedics, before transported to Alonnah and airlifted to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

The man is in a serious but stable condition.

Tasmania Police are investigating the crash.
