Behave for Builder’s Breakup
Salamanca Place between Montpelier Retreat and in the area of Wooby’s Lane will be closed to all traffic from 4pm tomorrow until 4am on Saturday morning while celebrations are in place for the traditional Builder’s Breakup.
A cage will cover the area from Knopwood’s Retreat across Salamanca Place onto the lawns.
As is usual during busy times in the waterfront area there will be additional police patrols.
“Police ask that people don’t drink to excess and have a plan in place to get home safely. Please look out for your mates and don’t drink and drive,” said Inspector Adrian Bodnar.
“What starts out as a fun night out with friends can become a situation that involves violence, resulting in a life-changing injury, when too much alcohol is involved.
“We’d like everyone to be able to enjoy the festive season but we won’t tolerate poor behaviour.”
