Barker Murder Update
Launceston CIB officers have this morning conducted a number of searches at several properties in the northern Midlands in relation to the 2009 murder of Shane Barker.
In addition, as the result of recent information provided to Police relating to this matter, Launceston Detectives will over the next few weeks be reviewing a number of aspects to this case.
This new information does identify a new line of enquiry to be investigated.
It is expected that police will be again speaking to a number of persons who have already been spoken to with regards to this matter.
This murder was committed on 2 August 2009 and remains unsolved at this time. A reward of $50,000 in relation to this is also still current.
A Detective from Launceston CIB will be available at the Campbell Town Police Station tomorrow 17 October between the hours of 10am and 2pm. Anyone with information in relation to the murder is urged to take the opportunity to visit the Police Station during this time.

Detective Inspector Flude will be available today at 3pm at Launceston Police Headquarters to take questions on the investigation.
