At approximately 3:40am on Friday 12^th October 2012, the Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) and Tasmania Police responded to a fire at Deak Street, Gagebrook.  Fire Officers extinguished the fire soon after arrival.

The vacant residence is privately owned and is currently for sale.

The cause of the fire is yet to be determined and the damage is estimated at $5,000. 

Detectives from Bellerive Criminal Investigation Branch, taskforce Icarus are investigating the fire with the assistance of Police Forensics and TFS.
