Around 4:20pm, a male, approached staff at Woolworths CBD and demanded money whilst holding a Stanley knife. 

No money was taken and the offender ran from the store when security approached him. No one was injured.

The male is described as being in his early 20s, wearing a red hooded jumper with a white stripe, dark pants, and black boots.

Armed Robbery- Touch of Asia- Sandy Bay Rd, Sandy Bay-  At 5:25pm, the same male entered the Touch of Asia store and stole a quantity of cash from the till whilst holding a Stanley knife. No one was injured.

Investigations are continuing.  If anyone witnessed the male around the time of these incidents, or has information as to his identity and whereabouts, please contact police on 131 444.
