Attempted armed robbery at Richmond
About 10.45 am on Saturday 13 September 2014 a man entered the Richmond Bakery armed with a hammer.
The man approached staff, grabbing hold of one male staff member, and demanded money.
Two members of staff managed to overpower the offender and force him out of the bakery. The man managed to escape from the staff members and fled through the court yard in the direction of Forth Street and St Luke’s Church.
The offender is described as; a man in his early 30’s, fair skin with freckles, approx 183 cm (6’) tall. He was wearing sunglasses, a black beanie, light grey hooded top, light coloured grey or khaki jeans and a black and white scarf.
There were several customers in the bakery and nearby at the time. No one was hurt.
Police would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident or anyone who may have seen the man or any suspicious vehicles in the area at the time of the offence.
