Around 11pm on Saturday 17 July 2010 the Tote Agency at 82 Derwent Park Road Glenorchy was in the processing of closing when a masked male, armed with a knife, attempted to enter the premises. However, quick thinking by staff locked him out.

As staff were leaving, the man ran to the front door with an obvious intention of gaining entry to commit robbery, however the door was slammed in his face causing him to flee toward Derwent Park Road.

The man was approximately 170cm tall, slim build and wearing dark coloured track pants, dark grey long sleeved top with a flash of blue/green on the sleeve and white on the back, and white runners. He also had a full faced balaclava and what appeared to be white socks on his hands.

A number of vehicles passed the Tote Agency at the time of this attempt and accordingly someone may have witnessed something of value to the investigation.  Anyone with information is requested to telephone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or Glenorchy Police.
