Assaults occurring in licensed premises at Bridport

Detectives from Launceston CIB are investigating an incident which occurred at a hotel in Bridport in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At about 1.30am a group of offenders have committed a number of unprovoked attacks on patrons in the premises at the time.  The incident was captured on CCTV.

A total of 13 victims have been identified at this time.

The injuries suffered by victims included bruising, swelling, cuts and scratches. One victim sustained a broken nose and several persons were knocked unconscious.

Two men in their 20’s, both from St Leonards are currently in Police Custody in relation to the incident and will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court later today.

A third man from Youngtown is also assisting with police inquiries.

This type of behaviour is very concerning to Police and incident’s such as these are treated seriously and acted upon quickly.
