During the early hours of Saturday 25 June 2016 a 29 year old male was conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital with serious head injuries. Police were contacted and an investigation commenced by detectives from Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch.

At this stage the head injuries may be as the result of an assault occurring in the Anear Court, Lutana area and a forensic investigation is continuing with the assistance of Forensic Science Service Tasmania.

A 45 year old man, also from the Lutana area, has been assisting police with enquiries but is not in custody and has not been charged.
