About 8.00pm on Saturday 6 October 2012 police were called to attend an address in Devonport in relation to an assault. 

A 42 year old Devonport man had sustained a stab wound to the hand.  He was treated at the North West Regional Hospital and released. 

A 28 year old Devonport man had sustained multiple stab wounds and has been transferred to the Royal Hobart Hospital.

A male aged 34 years from Burnie and a 38 year old male from Devonport have been charged in relation to the matter.
