On Tuesday the 26 June 2012 Wynyard Police attended the Wynyard High School as the result of an assault.

A 17 male former student is alleged to have assaulted a 58 year old teacher with a piece of timber.

The teacher involved in this matter, suffered injuries to his wrist and rib areas.

As a result of the investigation into this matter, the youth has been charged with assault and will appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court (Youth Justice Division) at a later date.
