Assault

Detectives from Hobart CIB are investigating an assault; where material was thrown at a woman standing at the corner of Elizabeth and Macquarie Streets in Hobart about 1.55pm on Monday 16 February 2015.

The material was thrown from a passing vehicle.

The woman did not see the car, but police believe several good Samaritans who went to the woman’s aid to ensure she was alright, may be able to assist with the identification of the vehicle or the person responsible.  Luckily the woman did not receive any injuries from the incident.

Police wish to remind people that the risks of physical injury from items thrown from a moving vehicle are high and that charges of assault and relevant traffic offences can apply.
