At approximately 3:30am on Thursday 4^th October 2012, Tasmania Police and Tasmania Fire Service (TFS) responded to a house fire at Rockingham Drive, Clarendon Vale.  The residence was totally engulfed which sustained major damage before Tas Fire could extinguish it.

The residence is the property of Housing Tasmania which had been recently unoccupied.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and the premises sustained damage estimated at $200,000.

The fire is being investigated by the ICARUS Taskforce, which is attached to the Bellerive Criminal Investigation Branch.

Police request that any member of the public with information in relation to this fire contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or investigators at the Bellerive CIB on 62302318.

Housing Tasmania offers rewards of up to $10,000 for information that leads to the conviction of the offender.
