Southern CDI Detectives are investigating a suspicious fire at a unit in Sandy Bay which was set overnight.

Unknown offender/s have broken into a unit on Regent Street Sandy Bay between 10pm Sunday 24/02/13 and 8am Monday 25/2/13.  Once inside, the offender/s have set fire to the unit which burnt slowly overnight.  Neighbours noticed smoke coming from the unit in the morning and contacted the Fire Service who extinguished it. 

Estimate of damage is around $50000.   Damage was contained to the unit and no other property was damaged.

The owner was not home at the time.
