Arson Arrest
Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch detectives from Taskforce Icarus have today charged a 28 year old Herdsmans Cove female with arson as a result of the investigation into a house fire at 48 Tottenham Road, Gagebrook that occurred in 2011.
The female was charged and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
This property was recently highlighted as an unsolved case dating back to August 2011, through the Crime Stoppers Week releases.
The Housing Tasmania property residence sustained extensive damage and had to be demolished, at an estimated loss of $200,000.
Investigations conducted by Taskforce Icarus and information received through Crime Stoppers has assisted with the arrest. Investigations are continuing in relation to further offenders.
Police encourage anyone with information about the other property fires focused on, at 9 Douglas Drive, Bridgewater and 29 Flamenco Circle, Glenorchy, to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 where information can be left anonymously.
