Detectives from Western Criminal Investigation Branch continued their investigation into the burglary and arson at the Top of the Town Hotel that occurred in the early hours of Saturday 28 July 2012.

On Monday 30 July 2012 three males from Burnie were arrested in relation to the matter. 

Two of the males, aged 19 years and 18 years, were charged with burglary and arson while a 17 year old youth was charged with burglary.

The 19 year old male appeared in an out of hours court sitting at the Burnie Magistrates Court and was remanded in custody to appear via video link on Tuesday 31 July 2012.  The other two males were bailed to appear at a later date.
