Arrests in relation to suspicious House Fires, Fairfax Terrace, New Norfolk
On Friday 10 July 2015, in the early hours of the morning, a house fire occurred at 48 Fairfax Terrace, New Norfolk causing an estimated $20,000 of damage.
On Sunday 12 July 2015, in the early hours of the morning, a house fire occurred at 16 Fairfax Terrace, New Norfolk causing an estimated $180,000 of damage.
Both residences were vacant and contained limited property. No persons were injured as a result of the fires.
As a result of investigations conducted between Tasmania Fire Service and Tasmania Police; three youths aged 18 years, 17 years and 15 years from the New Norfolk area have been charged by members of Glenorchy CIB.
Two youths will be jointly charged with one count of Arson in relation to the fire at 48 Fairfax Terrace, and two youths will be jointly charged with one count of Arson relating to the fire that completely destroyed 16 Fairfax Terrace. They will all appear in the Hobart Court of Petty Sessions at a later date.
