Arrest – Lebrina incident
At approximately 8.30am on Tuesday 31st August 2010 detectives from Launceston CIB arrested a 30 year old Ravenswood man at Ravenswood.
The man was charged in relation to a series of motor vehicle stealing and burglaries of houses and businesses in the Launceston and George Town areas over the past 2-3 weeks.
The initial search for the man involved the deployment of the Westpac rescue helicopter on the 25th August 2010 in the Lebrina area. This was after the man had allegedly attempted to break into a home in Beechford. He was then seen fleeing the area in a stolen car that was later located, crashed, on Pipers Brook Road.
The man was bailed and is due to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on the 13th October 2010.
