Armed Robbery – United Service Station, Bridgewater
Police are investigating an armed robbery at a United Service Station in Bridgewater overnight.
“Around 11:25pm last night, police responded to an armed robbery at the United Service Station on Green Point Road in Bridgewater,” said Detective Acting Inspector Ben Duffey.
“The offender, described as a man wearing dark clothing and a black face mask, entered the service station armed with a knife and demanded an amount of money from the attendant. He was provided with an amount of money before fleeing the scene, running towards Scott Road.
“Members from Glenorchy and Bridgewater CIB have launched an extensive investigation in relation to this robbery to identify, arrest and charge the man responsible.
“Tasmania Police are committed to utilising numerous resources to identify, arrest and charge offenders who commit serious crimes within the community, including this robbery.”
The service station attendant was not physically injured during the robbery, however is obviously shaken. At the time there was a female customer present in the store who was not physically injured.
Police would like to hear from anyone with information in relation to the robbery, or who saw a man wearing dark clothing acting suspiciously in the area of Green Point Road, Scott Road and the East Derwent Highway, Bridgewater around 11.25pm last night.
