Armed Robbery – Subway Restaurant – Ulverstone

On Saturday the 11th of April 2020 at approximately 7:40 pm a male offender has entered the Subway Restaurant located on the corners of King Edward Street and Reiby Street in Ulverstone.

The male offender approached the only employee working at the time behind the counter of the restaurant. He produced a knife and demanded the employee put the money from the business till into a white plastic shopping bag he had in his possession. The employee did what they were asked, and the male offender has left the business with a sum of money.

The male is described as wearing black shoes, black trousers, a black hooded jumper with the GLOBE emblem on the back. He was wearing green kitchen gloves and a black piece of material over his face at the time. He is described as being approximately 180 cm’s tall and he is of a thin build.

The employee working at the restaurant was not physically injured during the incident, however, she is shaken by the experience.

At this stage the male offender has not been located, however, the Devonport Criminal Investigation Branch are continuing to actively investigate the matter.
