Armed Robbery Subway Glenorchy

Orange-shoed robber flees Glenorchy Subway

Tasmania Police investigators are appealing for information from the public after an armed robbery at the Subway sandwich shop in Eady St, Glenorchy last night.

Just after 10pm a man produced a knife and demanded money from the two teenage female staff.

He left with a sum of notes and coins from the cash register, carried in a Subway bag and an ANZ bag.

The suspect is described as:

Medium build, about 160-165cm tall, aged in his late 20’s and wearing black track pants, a grey hooded jumper and distinctive orange shoes.

The store was empty of customers and the offender fled on foot towards Eady St oval.

The investigating officer, Senior Constable Jennifer Wood said:

“This would have been a terrifying experience for the two young shop attendants and we are doing everything we can to identify and arrest the offender.

“He covered his face with his top and was in and out of the shop in a matter of seconds.

“He was wearing bright orange shoes which could be helpful in identifying him by those who know him.

“We are asking for anyone who thinks they might know anything about the robbery or the offender to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Senior Constable Jenn Wood from Glenorchy Criminal Investigation Branch on 6230 2827.
