Armed Robbery – St Leonards – Update
Tasmania Police are currently investigating an armed robbery which occurred about 4pm this afternoon at the St Leonards Supermarket and Newsagency in St Leonards.
Two men, in possession of firearms, have entered the supermarket and demanded the male staff member hand over cash and cigarettes.
The offenders have left the supermarket with a quantity of cash and cigarettes in a white Ford utility that has now been reported as stolen.
The men are described as being medium build and height, wearing masks, gloves, and caps.
Investigations are ongoing and police are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who saw a white Ford Courier ute with a canopy on the back and black roof racks in the area around the time of the incident.
No physical injuries were sustained during the incident.
