At about 12.15pm on Wednesday 23 November 2011 a male was walking through Royal Park near the Launceston Rugby Union grounds when he was approached by three males described as being approximately 18 to 20 years of age.

One male has produced a knife and demanded that the victim hand over a sum of cash.

The males were described as follows:

(1) 18-20 years of age, 170-175 cm tall wearing a white hooded jacket and dark trousers.  He had dark hair and was of solid build. This person has two (2) piercings in his top lip.
(2) 18-20 years of age, 180 cm tall wearing a black hooded jacket and dark tracksuit pants.  This male was of a very thin build and had a 8-10mm spacer style earring.
(3) 18-20 years of age, 170-175 cm tall wearing a black hooded jacket and dark trousers.  This person was of medium build.

The victim has received minor injuries from the incident.

Police would ask any person who has information concerning the identity of these individuals or who may have been in the area around the time to contact Launceston CIB on 6336 3915 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
