At 5:17pm on Thursday the 5^th of July 2012 an unidentified male, armed with a knife, committed a robbery on the New Town Chemmart Pharmacy in New Town Road, New Town. The male demanded prescription medication from staff, and obtained a quantity of medication before making off on foot in a northerly direction along New Town Road and into Roope Street.

The male, possibly in his twenties, was around 5’11” to 6’ tall, dark sunken eyes and was wearing a black hooded top with a gold/brown motif featuring wings on the front and a green and white bandana covering his face.

Detective ask that anyone who may have seen this person, or who may otherwise have information about the robbery, contact Hobart detectives on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

There are similarities between this robbery and a previous robbery at the same pharmacy on the 20^th of June 2012, and the possibility the two incidents are linked is one avenue of enquiry that is being pursued.
